According to South Korea’s Electronic Times, Apple has decided to use OLED screens in all the three models they are to be launched next year. One of the main suppliers- Japan Display for liquid crystal display screens for the iPhones has lagged the South Korean rivals in the OLED production. In difference, the shares in LG display also co surged.
Apple is recently working on new iPhone models with having organic light emitting diode panels, according to reports cited by many unnamed industry references.
The stocks went down to 10% by the end of 29th of May morning session with a value around of $ 965 million. at one stage, At one point of time 21% stock was down.
Chief market analyst at securities Japan, Masayuki Otani said that “The Japanese government will continue to provide a lifeline to Japan Display, but the company has been just so slow in catching up with South Korean rivals in OLED,”
The company Japan Display was formed in the year 2012, when the display businesses of Hitachi, Toshiba Corp and Sony Corp combined in a deal brokered by INCJ- Innovation Network Corp of Japan.
One more analyst at Shinyoung Securities in Seoul, Lee Wok-sik said “If Apple uses OLED for all models for next year, that could raise hopes for LG Display to take a slice, as Apple may want to diversify its sources for OLED supply,”
So, Basically OLED screen which contains flexible sheets of organic electro illumination material does not comprise with the quality of the phone.
