We all know the fact that Samsung is trying their best to become the first company to launch a foldable smartphone. However now it seems like that the smartphone maker Huawei might beat Samsung in the race.
We have been hearing about Samsung’s foldable smartphone for two years now. But thanks to a recent confirmation, it is said that Samsung will be launching the first foldable smartphone this year. Although different sources believe that the smartphone would not make its way this year. But it will definitely appear in 2019.
However apart from Samsung, Chinese manufacturing company Huawei said that they are planning to beat Samsung.
According to a report, the company has partnered with BOE Technology Group for supplying it with flexible OLED displays for its upcoming premium foldable smartphone. Furthermore, the report also mentions that in the first batch Huawei will import a small number of units with the aim to beat Samsung. Also, it is said the company will make around 20,000 to 30,000 units of the smartphone in the first segment.
Huawei’s foldable smartphone is also said to debut in early 2019. And they want to be the first company to launch a foldable smartphone in the market. However, the supplier of the displays is not as ready as Samsung. Even there is no exact launch date of the foldable smartphone from Huawei. Since it depends on the development of the technology and the durability of the device.
Also, this is not the first time that Huawei is putting their hands in making a foldable device. In fact, during the early days of this year, the company partnered with LG Electronics for the same.
However as of now, there is no foldable smartphone available on the market, and there is no information on when this will turn into a reality. But it seems like it is going to happen real soon.
